Compare Shark NV350 vs Rotator NV500

Euro Pro Inc. has introduced yet another upgraded addition to their Shark Vacuum Lineup.

The Shark Professional Elite Rotator Lift Away ~ Model Nv500

Within this new series are the models: NV500, NV501, NV502, NV503, NV500w.
Not to confuse you further there is also the NV400 series..which is a somewhat equal verison…Compare Shark NV500 vs NV400 series here.

As if the already NV350 series of vacuums cleaners needed to be expanded upon…Shark rolled up all the superior conveniences into one neat, lightweight and compact vacuum. The Shark Rotator Series combines the Dyson like swivel steering, headlights and maneuverability.

You are able to disassemble the upright and simply carry the lift-away from one task to another where the upright ordinarily could not reach. The optional canister caddy is available to place the upright on wheels, creating more versatility.

Different Features:

The main distinguishing feature is the addition of the Canister Caddy. Rather than carrying the lift away canister around like the NV350, the caddy makes potability of the Rotator NV500 more enjoyable by transforming the powerful upright to a canister style vacuum, which glides across carpet and hardwoods to tackle any task at hand.

Shark Rotator Series also includes a “flexible hose” either on the crevice tools or the actual tools themselves ..this is unique to the Rotator series.

Additionally there is the optional feature of the Shark Rotators Edge Cleaner ~ a motorized side brush that cleans along walls otherwise known on precious models as the Wall-hugging accessory….
Such as on the v1950 – VX3 …the Shark Cordless Sweeper Series.

Other differences are Apparent When Comparing These Two Series:

The Shark Rotator Models have:

  • Wider cleaning path: 9.25” vs 14”
  • Larger dust capacity: 1.2 vs 1.3 Quart capacity
  • Longer Electrical cord: 25ft vs 30 ft
  • Headlights ~ That competes with Oreck & Dyson Models ~ not known on Sharks models before
  • Shark Rotators are heavier by 3 lbs ~ 12 ½ lbs vs 15 ½ lbs

I have already written numerous reviews upon the following:
Shark Navigator Pro Lift-Away NV350, NV351, NV352, NV356 and the NV356e.

    All Star Vacuum,

    Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away NV501

I now enjoy cleaning my floors lets put it that Way. The suction is amazing, and the lift away feature is great to walk around the house and get the corners of the walls. The fact i can turn off the brushes really helps on the bare floors. The second chamber to catch larger items is great also. Taking it apart top to button is really easy also. By far the best investment.

    Replacing Electrolux Canister

After doing hours and hours of research, we ordered this vacuum. We have a difficult house for a vacuum – dogs (including a german shepherd and keeshond), live in the country (dust, sand, dirt), different surfaces (wood plank floors, area rugs, linoleum), two stories (carpet on stairs), lots of STUFF (need for maneuverability), and we are both getting older (can’t handle the heavy Electrolux canisters anymore).
The Shark met our every expectation and then some. Our floors are cleaner than they have ever been, and the house smells wonderful after we vacuum. We emptied the canister several times the first vacuum, but it picked up sooooo much stuff that the Electrolux had left behind…..incredible! It handled the pet hair just fine, however we did have to pick some fuzzles and hair off of the brush roller when we ewre finished. When I did an area rug in the room where the Keeshond likes to “hang out”, I used a scissors to trim the brush roll because his hair is long. It was a quick and easy procedure, and I do the same thing with the Electrolux (but more often).
Emptying the canister is an easy process, and I cleaned it thoroughly and rinsed the foam filter after the first time we used it, since it picked up so much stuff that had accumulated in the rugs and in places where we have not been able to vacuum.
Switching to the floor nozzle and the little caddy is a simple process. It did a great job on the old plank floors. If you wanted an ultra fine dusting job on a wood floor, Shark has a microfiber head that you can order as an accessory. I did not have any problems with the unit tipping over as some people mentioned. The nozzle comes out of the bottom of the unit when it is seated on the caddy, so it is pretty stable.
It was really nice to be able to switch around to different attachments so easily and quickly by either using the handle or the wand. The larger pet power brush did a beautiful job on the big dog bed, the stairs, and the furniture.
Shark also offers a huge selection of optional accessories, and I have ordered their mini blind cleaner, large extending crevice tool, and a “back saver” wand to get under and above.
It is definitely easy to drive, but maybe not quite as “zippy” as their video promotions would leave you to believe. However, much more maneuverable than any other vacuum we’ve had. It does a fantastic job of getting under things with the floor nozzle and the wand, and I suspect that the back saver attachment will make this a piece of cake.
For the price and features, you cannot go wrong. It has a five year warranty. We ordered ours from Penney’s on sale, and got a great deal on it (model NV501).

    Love it!

    Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum NV352
I have been looking at this Shark for quite a while now. I really wanted a lighter vacuum (I’m 67, and I broke my shoulder in three places several years ago). I also wanted a vacuum cleaner that would do well on hard floors and on my hooked rug that I don’t use a beater brush on. But I was afraid that the light weight of the Shark might translate into inferior results. I checked on Consumer Reports, and found that this vacuum scored well on the aspects that are important to me. So I finally went ahead and ordered it. It arrived on Saturday, and I put it together (no problem). My carpet is 22 months old, but the Shark had to be emptied before I finished my three carpeted rooms because it was full of that fluff you get with a new carpet. Just think what my previous vacuum was leaving behind! (And I paid $400 for it…)

    LOVE IT!!!

    Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum NV352
I came here just to post a review. This thing rocks! The cord is long enough for me to do the whole downstairs without moving the plug! 2300 sq ft house, but a square shape 2 story. I have been so impressed with the suction! Been 3 months now and it’s the best vacuum I’ve ever had. I actually love using it. Great on the stairs. The curved handle is a pain sometimes, but it rotates so just adjust. I also clean the foam padding every 2 times I use it. It gets filthy, can’t imagine waiting a month or two to wash it out.
A++++ OH and I love that if it sucks up a string or fringe on a rug, the rollers stop rolling and you can get it out vs. burning up the motor or rubber band thing.
